Gustavo Bacarisas y Podestá, pintor gibraltareño asentado en Sevilla, fue el autor del cartel de la Exposición Iberoamericana, realizado en 1928. Ante la Plaza de España con sus dos torres y en el centro la Giralda de Sevilla, dispuso la alegoría de España rodeada por las de las Repúblicas americanas. Remata la composición una aureola de banderas de las naciones concurrentes.
Su producción para la Exposición fue muy importante. Para el Pabellón Real de la Plaza de América, diseñó los paneles cerámicos y pintó una serie de sargas (pinturas sobre tela de algodón) de gran formato que, a la clausura de la muestra, pasaron al Real Alcázar de Sevilla. Para el Pabellón de Argentina diseñó las cerámicas del patio y del Palacio de las Industrias, donde también realizó la ornamentación pictórica al temple del tambor de la cúpula.

His work for the Exhibition was very important. He designed the ceramic panels for the Royal Pavilion of the Plaza de América and painted a series of large format twigs (paintings on cotton cloth) that passed to the Royal Alcazar of Seville at the closing of the Exhibition.
He also painted the ceramics of the court for the Pavilion of Argentina and the Palace of Industries, where he also created the tempera paints for the drum of the dome.
Gustavo Bacarisas y Podestá was a Gibraltarian painter based in Seville and author of the poster of the Ibero-American Exhibition painted in 1928. The poster arranges an allegory of Spain surrounded by those of the American Republics, and behind them the Plaza de España with its two towers along with the Giralda of Seville in the center of the composition. It was topped with a halo of the flags of the participating nations.
