Los hermanos utreranos Serafín y Joaquín Álvarez Quintero fueron los autores de la letra del himno de la Exposición, con música de F. Alonso.
Sus comedias, sainetes, libretos de zarzuela y dramas, que se enmarcan en el contexto costumbrista y regionalista de la época, eran muy populares. Una de sus comedias, Los duendes de Sevilla, que cantaba las gracias de la ciudad, se estrenó en el Teatro Lope de Vega en pleno certamen.
Desde que se lanzara la iniciativa de celebrar una Exposición, los hermanos Álvarez Quintero, aprovecharon su prestigio para promoverla en España e Iberoamericana; en reconocimiento a ello, Aníbal González construyó una hermosa glorieta en el Parque de María Luisa, diseñada por Santiago Martínez.

Since the onset of the initiative to hold an Exhibition, the Álvarez Quintero brothers utilized their prestige to promote the project in Spain and Latin America. To recognize their contributions, Aníbal González built a beautiful monument carrying their name in the María Luisa Park, designed by Santiago Martínez.
The brothers Serafín and Joaquín Álvarez Quintero were the authors of the lyrics of the hymn of the Exhibition, with music by F. Alonso.
Their comedies called sainetes, librettos of zarzuela and drama portrayed in the costumbrista and regionalist context of the time, were very popular. Los Duendes de Sevilla premiered at the Lope de Vega Theater in the middle of the contest and was one of their well-known comedies represented by songs about the graces of the city.
