Nicolás Díaz Molero was a lawyer and businessman and a member of the Patriotic Trade Union. He served as Mayor of Seville from 1927 to 1930, while keeping the Presidency of the Official Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Navigation of Seville, which he held since 1925.
During his tenure as Mayor the urban works and projects of the Exhibition were accelerated and culminated in improving the air traffic between Seville, Madrid, and Buenos Aires.
As the highest municipal representative Díaz Molero starred during the inauguration celebrations of the Exhibition until February 25, 1930, when he left the Seville City Hall, following the Decree of Renovation of Town Halls, subsequent to the resignation of Primo de Rivera. Díaz Molero therefore stayed away from public life although he continued to be a member of the Liquidation Commission of the event.
